Climate and Soil
In Alter Pedroso, where the vineyard is located, the climate is typically Mediterranean, characterized by dry and hot summers that allow for optimal maturation of the vines.
With an altitude of approximately 400m, it allows a thermal amplitude of around 15º during the summer between dawn and midday. The soil is clay-limestone which explains the quality, finesse and uniqueness of each of the region's wines.
Harvest and Winemaking
Manual harvest, selected for 15 kg boxes. The grapes are de-stemmed and crushed, followed by prefermentative maceration. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats with temperature control.
Further stage in stainless steel tanks until bottling.
Tasting Notes
"Warm black fruit and generous tannins mark out this wood-aged wine. A blend of three varieties, Touriga Nacional, Syrah and Petit Verdot, the wine has young structure supporting its black fruits. It needs aging, so wait until 2025."
