Vinification: The 2008 growing season was characterized by a cool growing season and fine warm weather during the harvest. The grapes were picked in excellent condition, with good sugar and acid balance. Beº levels were between 13 – 14, slightly riper than 2007. The  established HF varieties of Syrah, TN and AB were picked and vinified separately along with a small portion of Petit Syrah, for added complexity in the final blend.
Ageing in used French and American oak barrels for 9 months. Bottling in November 2009. The wine, for release in 2013, is showing complex spicy notes from the varietal mix with lifted red berry fruits and some earthy notes from the Petit Syrah addition. Bottle ageing has brought about good fruit and oak integration and achieved great balance in the wine which is drinking well on release but has enough structure and acidity for a further 3 – 5 years ageing.
