Guadalupe Winemaker's Selection Red


Varieties: 60% Syrah, 30% Alicante Bouschet and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon 
Winemakers: Rui Reguinga e José Portela

Soil: Pronounced sloping schistous soils with medium production potential.
Climate: Mediterranean, with slight inland characteristics. Cold winters, where the rain concentrates between October and February (the average annual precipitation is about 700 mm persquare meter) and very hot summers.
Vinification: The grapes are harvested into small crates and immediately taken to the winery where they are cooled to a temperature of 15°C. The grapes are then separated, crushed and placed in French oak fermenting vats. Fermentation takes 8 to 10 days at a temperature of 25°C. Pumping over is carried out 4 or 5 times daily for 15-minute periods. After fermentation, the wine is transferred into 225-litre French oak barriques to age for 12 months

Tasting Notes

Colour: Guadalupe Winemaker´s Selection is a  garnet coloured wine.
Aroma: Aromas of black fruits, with hints of preserves, spices and bitter chocolate.
Palate:  It is balanced and elegant, with a prolonged palate
Cuisine: Ideal for accompanying intense dishes.
