Harvest 2012: Harvest 2012, our 17th harvest. A record cold and dry winter, followed by a cold and wet spring. Superlative summer. All in all, a quality driven vintage!
Vinification: Made exclusively from selected Aragonez (Tempranillo) grapes hand-picked at optimum maturity from chosen sites in our own vineyards. Fermented without stems under temperature control, frequent delestage, followed by extended skin maceration to enhance varietal fruit characters, and to provide tannin structure and balance. Aged for 12 months in French Oak (90%) and American Oak (10%), and then blended to give balanced varietal fruit and oak components.
Our Winemaker´s comments:
Spicy, savoury notes on the palate with juicy, red fruit, and well structured tannins.
