Herdade das Fontes Bárbaras is located in Baixo Alentejo, close to the villages of Entradas and Castro Verde, 35 km from the city of Beja.
Winery and Rural Tourism lodging unit are located on the property's 162 hectares, where the predominant culture is the vineyard.
It was in the 90s that the current owners introduced the culture of the vine into the agricultural property, taking advantage of the excellent climatic conditions of the area, dedicating themselves to the creation of their own wines, made with the best grape varieties, in the Fontes Bárbaras wine cellar.
In addition to the wine and tourism aspects, Fontes Bárbaras specializes in the area of wine tourism, providing wine tasting, visits to the vineyards and to the winery.
The Winery was expanded and improved in 2019, with the creation of an inviting space to taste our wines.
Herdade das Fontes Bárbaras is located in the Special Protection Zone (SPA) of Castro Verde, one of the most significant cereal steppe areas in Portugal and one of the most important in Europe, making it a great place for birdwatching.
