At the same time as the grand tastings take place in Brazil, the Wines of Alentejo begin the 7th edition of "The Best Sommelier Wines of Alentejo in Brazil", an exclusive competition for professionals related to the service of wine in restaurants, shops, emporiums or importers.

The wine critic Alexandre Lalas runs a commented session where he explains some of the key concepts of the Alentejo region, such as history, terroir, producers and wine profile. The competitors will then participate in an Alentejo wine competition, which ends with a written test of classification character. The one who has the most knowledge about Alentejo wines has more chances to win the "Best Sommelier" of the contest, benefiting from an exclusive tour and tasting by the Portuguese region for a week.
